Paul Zuwerkalow, CD, MA, RP, is a compassionate and experienced Registered Psychotherapist at Trent View Counselling, specializing in anxiety, depression, and trauma. His practice is grounded in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), but his overall approach is fluid and tailored to each client’s individual needs.
Although sessions can be structured and goal-focused, especially when time is limited, Paul incorporates an evolved CBT framework that integrates third-wave approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and DBT. These newer models emphasize psychological flexibility, mindfulness, and acceptance, alongside traditional cognitive restructuring. By addressing the broader context of thoughts and emotions, Paul ensures that interventions align with each client’s specific goals and challenges.
For those interested, Paul offers yoga-integrated psychotherapy as an optional addition. A Certified Yoga Teacher with advanced training in Yin and Restorative Yoga, Paul combines mindfulness and movement with traditional therapeutic methods to promote holistic healing when appropriate.
Paul retired from the Canadian Forces in 2015 and has since worked extensively with veterans, first responders, young adults, and adults. His warm, non-judgmental style creates a safe space for clients to explore their challenges, build resilience, and achieve meaningful change.
